Welcome

Welcome to the website of St. Clare’s Primary School. We are a large school situated in the rural town of Manorhamilton in north County Leitrim.

We are a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kilmore and guided by our Catholic ethos we strive to provide a caring, happy and secure atmosphere and school environment where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral, social and cultural needs of all our pupils are identified and addressed.

Every child in our school is accepted for who they are, they are truly valued as an individual and their uniqueness is celebrated in a vibrant, inclusive, colourful, friendly and very happy place of learning, fun and laughter.

We are very proud to have a large multicultural pupil population here in St. Clare’s and from Botswana to Bulgaria, Canada to Czech Republic, Latvia to Lithuania ,from Pakistan to the Philippines and Poland, South Africa to India, Ukraine to the United Kingdom and all the way to Vietnam we celebrate and pride our school in our very rich and cherished multicultural heritage.

Our aim is to ensure that our pupils leave us after eight years empowered with the self-belief and confidence that will allow them to meet the challenges of life with common sense, integrity and resilience.

Our aim is to ensure that every one of our pupils gets the highest quality individual attention and no child in our care will ever ‘get lost in the crowd.’ Every pupil is reassured, supported and nurtured in the most caring, loving and happy environment and while we utilise the most modern and innovative teaching approaches we are grounded in promoting the old-fashioned values of honesty, respect and loyalty.

The promotion and development of a wide range of extra-curricular activities at our school serves to enhance the holistic education that we provide and we recognise the importance of promoting sport ,especially gaelic games ,at our school. We pride ourselves in recognising and nurturing the talents of our pupils from a young age and ensuring that they receive the platforms to compete and our support, guidance and encouragement that is necessary to enable them to achieve their full personal academic and sporting potential.

We strongly acknowledge the contribution of all stakeholders in our school community and we enjoy working together in the spirit of collaboration and co-operation to ensure that the highest standards are met for our pupils and that they are exposed to the best possible primary educational experience at our school.

We hope that this website conveys the enthusiastic, caring, positive, respectful and very happy atmosphere that defines us as a school.

Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh said.
