Home/School Communication:

Frequent communication is of vital importance in developing and nurturing co-operation between home and school. In our school, communication between home and school may take one of the following forms:

1. Individual Consultation:

This occurs where a parent/guardian have asked for a meeting with a teacher or has been invited to visit the school to exchange information or to discuss matters of concern.
N.B: A note to the class teacher requesting such an appointment is always essential or a phone call to the school office to arrange an appointment if possible.
Informal consultations are not advised. Do not arrive at your child’s classroom door unannounced. Completion of a Pre-meeting form will assist in making all meetings beneficial to all parties.

Appointment with Principal: Phone the school at (071) 9855703

2. Parent/Teacher Meetings:

These are held generally during the first term.
Meetings may be held in connection with preparation for the Sacraments. A meeting is held towards the end of each school year for Parents / Guardians of new Junior Infant pupils.

Using the School Car Park:

  • There is a safe walkway from the church car park to the school with zebra crossings and a new entrance path to the school. Whenever possible please use this option first before considering driving up to the school.

  • On the school grounds you should drive no faster than walking pace at all times. Irresponsible driving will be reported to the Gardai.

  • The car park is not for pedestrian use i.e. no child or parents are allowed to cross the car park, this includes dropping off or picking them up. There is a footpath for the use of parents and children that runs the whole way around the car park, and which must always be used.

  • Cars are not allowed to use the drop off area for parking, this area is only to be used when a car is dropping off or picking up and will be exiting quickly. Your child must be ready and able to get in/out of the car. A maximum of three cars are allowed in the drop off area.

  • On wet days ONLY parents with babies under 3 years of age may exceptionally park in the school yard. Those parents must then wait until all the other children are collected, and the traffic clears before leaving themselves.

  • No car is permitted to park anywhere other than a parking space. If upon your arrival at the school you find there are no parking spaces available, you must stop just before the pedestrian crossing and wait for a space to become available.

  • If upon your arrival you find a queue of traffic before you, please wait until the traffic in front moves forward. There is no overtaking permitted on school grounds.

  • Children in junior infants and senior infants will not be allowed to leave without their parent or guardian, so in the event that a parent/guardian gets caught in the queue, your child will stay with a teacher until you get parked.

  • There are no exceptions to any of these points.

  • This is for the safety of all our children on the school grounds.

  • If someone else is collecting your children from school it’s your responsibility to inform them on the correct use of car park.

  • If you have any concerns please feel free to contact any member of parents association, the parent’s rep’s or Laura Tully (Principal)
